Kendal 31 Didsbury 34

Kendal entertained bottom of the league side Didsbury and were too find out nothing can be taken for granted after this game in what looks like being a very tight and tense battle. Didsbury were first on the scoresheet with a converted try after some loose play and poor tackling from Kendal. It was to be a feature of the game that Didsbury capitalised on loose play from Kendal all over the pitch punishing them what appeared to be every time with points against. Kendal were next on the scoresheet though a lineout  from a deep boardley pen resulted in Capstick catching and driving with scrum half Hill burrowing over for the score conversion missed. 7.5. Kendals back line looked lively all afternoon and after another converted Didsbury score Mark Ramjet went over for 2 scores outpacing the cover defence on both occasions Boardley converting both. 19.12. Kendal then lost fullback Moss and prop Donaghue to injury forcing the versatile Ross to fullback. Boardley and Ashley were enjoying plenty of running and with winger Boow solid on one wing and debut Kiwi Tim Large sound on the other. 2 Boardley pens and a converted Didsbury try gave Kendal a lead at the break of 25.19
 
Stern words were spoken at the interval with Kendal not wanting to be as sloppy in the second half. Unfortunately for Kendal Didsbury were a team full of confidence and belief and soon on the score sheet again with an unconverted try again coming from loose play by Kendal in the middle of the park 25.24. Boardley got a pen for Kendal for a 28.24 lead. Didsbury then got 3 points of there own 28.27. Closely followed by a converted try well worked by forwards and back 28.34. Fresh legs and old head of Nutter were introduced which got Kendal going forward well with Howse Capstick and Warren Tilsley but all too show was a Boardley pen 31.34. Didsbury held firm soaking up constant forward pressure to take the spoils against a Kendal second team who were on the day short of ideas and lacking the same passion as the opposition.
